Common questions

Why only 75% of M&IE on the first and last day? The JTR (020310) and FTR (301-11.101) pay 75% of the M&IE rate on travel days. Under the JTR the return day uses 75% of the previous day's rate (020310 E.1).

Meals were provided. What changes? Under the JTR, one or two meals on a full day means the proportional meal rate (PMR) plus incidentals; all three means incidentals only (Table 2-17). Under the FTR the app deducts each meal at the GSA breakdown, never below incidentals. Tap B, L or D on the day.

My orders say GMR or PMR. Choose "Meals in orders: GMR directed" or "PMR directed". The app applies it on full days; travel days keep 75% of the locality M&IE.

Long-term TDY flat rate? Since the JTR of 1 Oct 2026 there is no automatic flat rate. Enter a reduced rate only if your travel authorization states it.

PCS with family. Choose PCS and add dependents: 12 or older get 75%, under 12 get 50% of your M&IE (JTR 050303, Table 5-6). A shared room is split per traveler and each share is capped (Table 2-15, Rule 3). Leave the room cost empty for an overnight flight.

How do I get new rates? DTMO publishes new rates on the 1st of each month. The app checks once a day for a signed update (About → Check for new rates) and works offline with the rates it has. Saved trips keep the rates they were saved with; a trip shows "Newer rates are available" when that matters.

Where are my receipt photos? Only on your device, inside the app. They are included in the PDF export. Deleting a trip deletes its photos.
